Councillor Wendy Meikle, Cabinet Member
for Education, Children and Families at
Stockport Council says:
“As a council, one of our key ambitions is to
ensure that every child in Stockport has the
best possible start in life. One Stockport Family
Hubs bring together essential services that
support children and young people, both in
local neighbourhoods and online. Listening to
families' requests for easier access to
information on the go, we are excited to
introduce the Family Hubs app. This app will
make it even simpler for families to access the
help they need, wherever they are and
whenever they need it."
Family Hubs bring together early help
provided by council, NHS and wider
partners, including the voluntary,
community, faith and social enterprise
sector. Support covers all aspects of family
life, from early help with infants to support
with teenagers and school leavers, as well
as broader issues such as cost of living,
debt and parental mental health.
Nic Firth, Chief Nurse for Stockport NHS
Foundation Trust says:
“We are proud to be part of One Stockport
Family Hubs. Our midwives, health visitors
and school nurses work in partnership with
Stockport Council to help give local families
with children the support that they need.
The new app is an excellent way of helping
families to access that support even more
easily, and we are delighted to support its
launch.”
Family Hubs networks work together as
one team to support people in their
neighbourhoods where they feel most
comfortable. Look for Family Hubs signage
at your local library, in community centres
or rooms, or at your leisure centre, and
you’ll find staff trained to help you find
the support you need. You can also use
Family Hubs online anytime, any day, to
find information, help and support,
including a directory of all local family
services and an events calendar.
Councillor Meikle continues:
“One Stockport Family Hubs exemplify our
Stockport Live Well approach, which focusses
on connecting communities and putting
people at the heart of everything we do.
Family Hubs are the golden thread that links
the breadth of support available to families.
You can access this support at community
locations or via our website. Now with the
Family Hubs app, your Family Hubs support is
just a tap away.”
