The delivery of the Youth Engagement and Progression
Framework (YEPF), a Welsh Government strategy, has reduced
the number of young people not in education, employment or
training.
Caerphilly Youth Service works in close partnership with
Careers Wales, local training providers and local colleges to
offer robust post-16 pathways through Jobs Growth Wales
Plus (JGW+) and other tailored programmes. This includes
working with young people requiring support into an
appropriate education, training or employment opportunity
on completion of their education at school or alternative
provision. The youth service in partnership with Careers
Wales offers bespoke support, career guidance, and life skills
to young people who are currently disengaged supported
through HPAD (High Priority Area Delivery) funding.
To showcase the voices and aspirations of young people,
Caerphilly Youth Service hosted a media session with local TV,
radio and press to highlight the success of young people who
have accessed the service.
Cllr Carol Andrews, Youth Champion for Caerphilly County
Borough Council, said “The Council remains committed to
supporting our young people in reaching their full potential.
The success of Caerphilly Youth Service, in partnership with
local organisations, demonstrates how we can make a real
difference in young people’s lives”.
Youth Service Manager, Paul O’Neill, commented “Caerphilly
Youth Service is proud to be at the forefront of supporting
young people in making successful transitions into adulthood,
work, and further education by working with partners across
Wales.”
