landscape, personality and specialist
activities, but all share the same purpose:

Whithaugh Park brings wilderness
adventure in the Scottish Borders, Frontier
Centre offers lakeside and woodland
challenge in Northamptonshire, Carroty
Wood creates woodland discovery in Kent,
and Summit Centre provides
mountain-valley adventure and indoor
climbing opportunities in South Wales.
With AALA licensing, Learning Outside the
Classroom LOTC) quality assurance and
programmes shaped around young people,
each centre gives children a safe, exciting
place to step beyond the classroom and into
experiences that build confidence,
resilience, teamwork and independence.
That is why Rock UK matters. Children

learning runs deeper. Climbing teaches
trust and perseverance. Canoeing and raft
building develop communication and
problem-solving. Orienteering gives
purpose to map skills. Bushcraft encourages
children to notice nature, manage risk and

For many children, a residential is also a first:
a first night away from home, a first taste
of independence, or a first discovery that
they are braver than they thought. Teachers
